Give a little time and build Skills for Life.
The 1st Winchester Scout Group is one of the largest and best equipped Scout groups in Winchester with a proud history. We have 2 Beaver Colonies, 2 Cub Packs and 2 Scout Troops which are open to girls as well as boys.
Our building is in use every weekday evening (except when we’re out doing outdoor stuff like Scouts should). It was rebuilt in 2014 to maximise enjoyment and use by Scouts, and also designed to be used by community users. In 2017 a new multiple use store/adventure facility replaced the old garages.
The Group is led by our Group Scout Leader, Mike Wilson and he is supported by the Group Trustee Board chaired by Tom Shaw.
If your child would like to be part of the adventure you should first visit the Membership Details page. If you are interested in helping to lead the adventure, visit the Flexible Volunteering page.
Scouting provides skills for life to young people, who are split into sections. Beaver Scouts (6-8), Cub Scouts (8-10½), Scouts (10½-14), Explorer Scouts (14-18) and Scouts Network (18-25).
You don’t need to be Bear Grylls to join us. Whatever your skillset, lend a hand for as little or as much time as you can spare, and we promise you’ll get more out than you put in.
